Better Beauty x 2

Our New Location is Now Open!

If you’ve been following along at home, you probably know that we’ve had a new location in the works for a hot minute or two. Well, mes amis, that day is finally here: Midwest Beauty House’s second location is now open for business!

So, that part is pretty straight forward. The twist to this story is that both locations, while still Midwest Beauty House, will operate out of their spaces in two unique ways. To offer some clarity, here’s a breakdown of each shop’s location, available services, and personnel. Check it out:

NEW LOCATION

2334 ATWOOD AVENUE
Working title: Atwood (a.k.a The Beauty Shop)

Midwest Beauty House | Atwood
Handles hair, makeup, styling, and nails

Located at 2334 Atwood Ave, on the corner of Atwood Ave & Ohio Ave next to Revolution Cycles and in front of The Ohio Tavern (you know, the one with the prominent ‘Drink Blatz Beer’ sign). Once you see it, you’ll never be able to unsee it (in a good way, not the nightmare-inducing, seared-in-your-retina-with-the-heat-of-a-thousand-suns-for-all-of-eternity kind of way).

This is where the team you’ve come to know and adore have set up shop. So, if you’ve been seeing Alice, Robyn, Ashley, Denise, or Alyssa, make note of this change!

You can find out anything else not covered here by zipping over here.

OLD LOCATION

1969 WINNEBAGO STREET

Midwest Beauty House | Winnebago
(a.k.a. The Original Shop)

Go here for all your haircuts and beardcuts (to coin a term)

Located at 1969 Winnebago, on the corner of Atwood Ave & Winnebago Street next to One Barrel Brewing Co. and a couple doors down from Tex Tubb’s Taco Palace.

Rick Schwalbach will be at the helm, offering stylish cuts and trims to all takers. You won’t be able to get your nails or makeup done here, but you can get a sweet haircut from one of Madison’s finest stylists. Learn more about Rick here.

Book a haircut (or a beardcut) with Rick here.

WHY DID WE DO THIS?

It’s all part of our mission to create and spread Better Beauty Culture. We love the original location, but were quickly outgrowing the space, making it difficult to negotiate the number of people in that space all at once. Lucky for us, we found a larger space close to the original location, which was important because we really love the neighborhood and didn’t want to lose people by moving. Also, it was important to find someone to join MBH who lives the Better Beauty Culture values. We couldn’t be more confident with the addition of Rick to the Midwest Beauty House family. Not only is he an immensely talented stylist, he’s a great ambassador for promoting a Better Beauty Culture.

We hope this helps clear things up, but if you have questions, feel free to drop us a line.
