We’re excited to share another monthly feature with you! We’re really loving this opportunity to show off our beautiful clients and hope you’re enjoying meeting these wonderful people along the way. This month we’re featuring one of Miss Robyn’s client’s, Cathy. She’s a beautiful, compassionate and talented woman, and we always love to see her gorgeous red curls walk through our door.

Meet Cathy:

How long have you been a client of MBH?

“I followed my favorite awesome hairstylist, Robyn, to MBH. She has always understood my hair and is a talented artist – I’ve been coming to her for eight years.”

What’s your favorite thing about MBH?

“My chats with Robyn are my favorite thing about coming to MBH. Whether we are catching up, telling family stories, or trying to solve the world’s problems, we always enjoy the conversation. And I love the intimate, friendly MBH space.”

What do you love most about your hair?

“I love my red, curly hair. I spent years fighting my red curls, but realized my red curls are part of me and decided to embrace my hair.”

Who’s your current style icon/inspiration?

“I don’t have a current style icon. My inspiration is always my mom – a strong, determined woman. A quote my sisters like to describe me as is ‘Woodstock generation gone middle class’. I don’t want to be defined by my age but by my attitude.”

What do you love most about Madison/the Midwest?

“I love that Madison has the amenities and attractions of a big city, but has the friendliness and feel of a small town.”

What are some of your favorite local business?

“The Madison farmer’s market, Katy’s American Indian Shop on Monroe Street and the Old Fashioned Restaurant, because I love a good Old Fashioned!”

Why is receiving beauty services important to you?

“Having Robyn cut and style my hair emphasizes the very best of my hair. Getting the right cut adds to my confidence and that is important to me.”

What does “better beauty culture” mean to you?

“Better beauty culture means taking care of what nature and heredity have given me, so I can be my best at any age. That means exercise, caring for my fair skin and freckles, my ‘life experience’ lines, and my curly hair.”
